Khayl Markus

Khayl Markus is a 19 year old filmmaker hailing from South Africa, currently studying at the University of the Witwatersrand. His creative practice includes directing and post-production, drawing inspiration from art-house cinema. Films such as The Arsonist (2025), Compost (2025) and Faces of Music (2026) showcase Khayl’s intimate yet unsettling visual language and tone, which aims to create films that linger with audiences.
